Effective date
Coverage is effective the first of the month following six months of continuous employment at Huber.
If you needed to stop working temporarily due to illness or injury, the loss of income could cause serious financial hardship for your family. Huber provides you with both short-term disability (STD) and long-term disability (LTD) insurance at no cost to you. The disability benefits you receive allow you to continue paying your bills and meeting your financial obligations during this difficult time.
There is no action you need to take; you’re automatically enrolled in Company-paid disability coverage. Contact your HR Representative to learn more.
Coverage is effective the first of the month following six months of continuous employment at Huber.
Your disability benefits are offset by other payments you receive, such as SSDI, Worker’s Comp., etc.
Your STD benefits will vary based on your employment status (hourly vs. salaried). Your LTD benefits are equal to 60% of your annual base pay, up to a maximum monthly benefit of $21,000. The maximum benefit duration decreases with age.
Conversion is available for LTD if your coverage was in effect for at least 12 months.
If you’re making a claim for STD benefits due to childbirth, keep in mind that Huber offers many other benefits to support you during this special time, including paid parental leave, a free SNOO rental, child care resources, and subsidized back-up care.
